Week 12
Ok, who is this crab of a baby and what did he do with my sweet Oscar? The grumpies have attacked him – HARD! Ugh, he doesn’t want to be put down, he doesn’t want to be picked up, he is a little fuss bucket and no fun! Oh how we love the swing when we start getting baby attitude - the music and motion are like a little mute button for our bo...
Week 11
So this week was my dear, sweet Ella’s 8th birthday. I know, I don’t look old enough to have 8 and 9 year olds – thanks! We took her to this uber-fun place called Jump Street – wall to wall trampolines. Oh my! I haven’t jumped and flipped on a trampoline in over 20 years. We had a really great time. Except one thing – rewind to a...
Week 10
Just when I think I’ve got it all figured out, it changes. And by “it” I mean Oscar. One night he sleeps until 4 am others he is waking every two hours. So even when he does sleep a long stretch I continue to wake up for two reasons – 1) my brain is now trained to listen for him 2) my boobs are like giant boulders in my bra and need to be re...
Week 8
Wow! My baby boy is a whole 2 months old this week (duh). Every day he is developing more of a little personality. It is amazing to watch his growth (the first two times around seem to be a blur) and instead of being completely in over my head stressed (aside from the book mishap), I am totally eating up every minute of it. He is smilin...
Week 9
Holy growth spurt Batman! I think we’ve got one here and it hit mid-week. He’s been noshing every 2 hours, consistently. Oscra’s been napping for about 45 minutes to an hour, but the past few days he has been going to bed at around 7 and waking up at 4-4:30! WOO HOO! Man, I feel like a normal WOMAN (compliments of Shania Twain).&n...
Week 7
I need Jillian Michaels (the Biggest Loser) to come whip my butt into shape. (Let’s be honest here, if Jillian Michaels came running toward me with a whip I’d drop to the fetal position and cry like a baby) I’ve got the new tennis shoes, they’re all shined up and techie’d up with their Nike plus system that connects my iPod to my shoes. I ca...
Week 6 –
Well I found out this week that Tim is going to Haiti for 8 days to volunteer. He is an EMT and is able to offer assistance to the tons of people hurt from the massive earthquake a little over a month ago. I’m so proud of him and the group he is going with. It is going to be the trip of a lifetime. So I am single-mommin’ it for 8 days...
Week 5
I need to step away from the baby books, scratch that, burn the baby books! Ya, I’m talking to you little Miss Baby Whisperer and big ol’ smarty pants Mr. BabyWise. They are making me absolutely paranoid. Of course I want my baby to sleep through the night. Every exhausted new mom with dark circles under her eyes wants that – duh! ...
Week 4
Some days I am highly confident in this whole “mother-to-a-newborn” act that I am trying to fool everyone with. On those days the baby eats like a dream, goes down for naps awake and happy only to sleep for 3 solid hours, and without a pacifier to boot and he’s happy when he wakes up. I get a shower and actually put clothes and makeup on, maybe hav...
